MUSÉE DES ARTS DÉCORATIFS
Des cheveux et des poils
The exhibition "Hair and Fur" shows how the arrangement of human hair has contributed for centuries to the construction of appearances. Through more than 600 works, from the 15th -century to the present, it explores themes inherent to the history of hairdressing, but also questions related to facial and body hair. Past and present trades and know-how are highlighted with their emblematic figures from Marie-Antoinette’s favorite hairdresser Léonard Autier to the Carita sisters or Alexandre de Paris, not forgetting certain designers who have created spectacular works from hair like Martin Margiela or Josephus Thimister.
◼ Musée des arts décoratifs. 107, rue de Rivoli, 1st . 11am to 6pm, 9pm on Thursday. €14. Until September 17. www.lesartsdecoratifs.fr
BOURSE DE COMMERCE-PINAULT COLLECTION
Avant l'orage
The exhibition cycle Avant l'orage (Before the Storm), presented by the Pinault Collection, invites you on a journey from shadow to light through emblematic or previously unseen works by around fifteen artists, who take over all the spaces of the Bourse de Commerce. And it is against a backdrop of climate change, before the storm breaks again, that the artists invent here unstable ecosystems representing new seasons. Also find the masterful work of Danh Vo in the Rotunda.
