Archi prolifique, Sebastian Herkner incarne avec succès la nouvelle garde du design allemand. Depuis qu’il a fondé son studio en 2006 et rayonne à l’international, il donne l’impression d’avoir déjà tout dessiné. Son credo ? Revisiter le savoir-faire artisanal en l’abordant sous un angle novateur. Et révéler la beauté du matériau, que ce soit le verre pour ClassiCon, la céramique pour Kaufmann ou le cuir pour La Manufacture. M.H.

The ultra-prolific Sebastian Herkner has become an exemplar of the new wave of German design. Having built an international reputation since the founding of his studio in 2006, he seems to have already dealt with everything there is to design. His guiding principle: to update artisanal knowhow by approaching it from a fresh angle.
