Spectacular, sublime, mindblowing – these are just a few of the words that come to mind when you experience Maison Russe, the new restaurant-bar from Paris Society (Gigi, Coco, Mun, etc.) and Dominique Romano. The discreet private mansion, the former location of Joël Robuchon’s establishment, was skillfully transformed by Laleh Amir Assefi. From the ground floor – home to the entrance, a shop and the bar – you walk up a few steps to discover the restaurant. At once chic and inviting, the somewhat fussy style calls to mind the Great Russian palaces and the Bolchoi Theater. Chef Julien Chicoisne has concocted a mouthwatering and festive menu. Unsurprisingly, salmon and caviar take pride of place, but you can also steer away from Russian folklore by opting for more classic dishes like the codfish or linguine, enjoyed here to our great delight with a good dose of caviar. The excellent truffle pizzetta is not to be overlooked, nor are the impeccably fresh tartars and the traditional salmon coulibiac with beurre blanc.
