His salvation was the result of his search for a better way of life in the form of a vision. One night, he asked God to show him this better way, if there be any. He saw a vision on his bedroom ceiling of the hand of an angel and then the Holy Bible opened up and sparkling. God revealed to him that if he wanted a better life, he had to obey God's word. A short time after this vision he was witnessed to by a coworker on his job, Deacon Edward Jackson and was invited to attend a service. Pastor Standifer was saved on March 31, 1964 at Faith Tabernacle Church of God under the leadership of Elder J. H. Durham, located at that time at 102 W. 59th Street in Chicago, Illinois and later received the gift of the Holy Ghost. Shortly after he joined the church, he led his wife and children to join. Pastor Standifer was appointed and later licensed as Deacon and served in Illinois for ten years. In 1974, he moved his family to Memphis, Tennessee and served "call into ministry in 1983. He relocated back to Illinois in 1984 and worked tirelessly assisting and building the ministries of various churches. After which he became Pastor of his own mission called "The Living Word" in both Calumet City and Harvey, Illinois. In 2002, he was ordained Elder in the Pentecostal meeting of the A.O. H. Church of God, and assigned to be Pastor of Evergreen A.O. H. Church of God in Memphis, TN. He pastored until May 2020 when he relocated to Atlanta Georgia to live with his daughter Dr. Juanita (Standifer) Woodson and son in law Warren Woodson. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on December 24th, 2021. Although he is no longer with us, his teachings and prophecies live on! He wrote the vision of the coming of Jesus Christ and the importance of salvation so many could know the truth and follow it."voir moins
