Reem Hijjawi was born in 1961 at the West Bank of Palestine Nablus . Yet, she was raised in Kuwait .

She, then, finished her degree in Industrial Engineering in Bradley University, Illinois and took her first job at their family business.
Meanwhile, her first short stories were published by Arabic magazines and newspapers such as the Al Qabas of Kuwait , Al Rai of Jordan and Sayedati of Saudi Arabia.
In 1990, when the Gulf war broke out, she moved to Jordan where she published the book entitled That Man, a collection of short stories.
In 1996, she established the Reem Hijjawi Health Center for children back home in Nablus.
And in 2010, she moved to Long Beach California where she took a poetry course with the prominent poet, Gerald Locklin.
