Jan, with her husband, Leslie, served as missionaries with the International Mission Board for 38 years in Southeast Asia. Jan served as a reporter for the Philippine Mission for many of those years. She has written numerous articles and authored three books. She compiled a history of the Philippine Mission. Their three children, David, Lynette and Jana are also writers.
