She did all these things, and more, in a kaleidoscope of rich experiences that brought her joy--times at her grandparents’ farm--and sorrow, losing three brothers all at young ages. Her first marriage produced a son, but was not happy. Later, she married a good friend, a marriage that had its own challenges, but one in which she stayed for the rest of her days.
Guerra, a proud woman who could trace her ancestry to Spanish nobility, was also shy and reticent, part of the reason only four of these poems were ever published elsewhere. But her children treasure her gift and so, at last--with the full approbation of the family--they offer this volume to the world, bringing at last to fruition their mother’s dream of being a published poet. We invite you to walk along with Yolanda Grace Guerra in her journey through life and be enriched in your own.voir moins
