Eva Sharron Kobee spent her childhood in the shadow of the French Lick Springs Hotel where her father, Frank McDonald, worked for 60 years, most of those years as Chief Engineer of...voir plusEva Sharron Kobee spent her childhood in the shadow of the French Lick Springs Hotel where her father, Frank McDonald, worked for 60 years, most of those years as Chief Engineer of the hotel’s power plant. While attending Indiana University as a music education major, she worked the summers at the ho-tel and there met her future husband, Johnny Kobee, a musi-cian in the hotel’s band. That summer love turned into a mar-riage that lasted 57 years and has been blessed with three chil-dren, eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren….so far. In 2002, while working as the hotel’s concierge and histori-an, she was awarded the Lieutenant Governor’s Hoosier Hos-pitality Award for Orange County. She now lives in Antwerp, Ohio, with her best friend and confidant, “Lady”, whom the angels dropped off at the local shelter. Both are proving that you can, indeed, “teach an old dog new tricks”.voir moins
