Her ghost story ‘Red Branwen’ – described by author and judge Sarah Waters as a ‘feminist slasher’ - won a place in the finalists’ anthology of the Asham Literary Award 2011. Jan is active in the voluntary sector as co-ordinator of a community gardening project and a writing group. She became Age UK Internet Champion in 2013. She lives with her husband Terry.
