Lila Parong has taught in Hawaii for the last 22 years. She and her awesome husband Maxi has a blending of eight children and 2 grand children. They hope to help children in Hilo now that they are newly licensed for foster care. Lila is a songwriter/ musician (album: Island Inspirations II), classical piano teacher and a Worship Leader at New Hope Christian Fellowship Hilo. She has a great love for the Keiki of Hawaii and through her teaching experiences felt it necessary for teachers to share a story like Janikas to encourage students to recognize and help those who seem to have a silent cry of pain.
A note about the Illustrator~
A special Mahalo to you my young illustrator Meagan Kubojiri, a 14 year old student from Waiakea High School and her mother Jill, a middle school teacher and friend at Waiakea Intermediate school. Together, they brought a unique touch of visual enhancements to give this story a glorious makeover.
What a privilege it was to work with you both on this special project. I love your artistic creation. Again, thank you.voir moins
