He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, and earns his living as an electronic engineer, with eleven patents to his name. Books, history, and travel are his hobbies. His first book, "Once upon a Mulberry Field," is an award-winning novel set in Vietnam at the height of the war. It is followed by "Rain Falling on Tamarind Trees," a travelogue of his 2016 visit to the ancestral homeland and a former Amazon #1 New Release in Vietnam Travel Guides.
