He has always been interested in cars. Having learnt to drive aged 17 in his father's Austin A35 he went on to become one of the youngest ministry approved driving instructors at the time.
Although his first car was a Renault Dauphine Gordini he also rebuilt several Classic Cars including a 1929 Morris Minor, Morris 8 Tourer Srs 1, and his last an MGA Twin Cam, before moving on to modern cars.
After he retired early due to illness he acquired a BIG BOYS TOY! a 1939 Standard Flying Eight Tourer which he called STAN. From then on he has written a series of books.
As well as being the Publicity Officer for the Standard Motor Club and the Organiser of the New Forest Group a local motor club, he is often seen driving the little blue standard around the New Forest Hampshire.
He supports Charities by arranging for Topper the scarecrow Charlie crow & Stan to visit shows, schools,fetes etc.voir moins
