(Sport of the future.) He attended the University of Southern Maine before transferring to an elite writing program at the University of Southern California. (Palmam qui meruit ferat.) He stayed grounded by returning to Maine during summer breaks to work at a steel mill. After graduation and still looking for life experiences to imbue his writing, he drove an armored car on the mean streets of Los Angeles. He was only shot once and that was in the company locker room. He has been paid for his fiction, screenwriting, and sportswriting. During a period of personal and professional rejection, he joined Mensa, the high IQ society, to feel better about himself. Having had his fill of life experience, he now writes and plays games.
