She authored the book, Ministering Hope to the Hurting Heart: a Guide for Christians published in 2013. It is an inspiring gentle guide for survivors of abuse and for people called to minister to them. Roberta has practiced as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) for twenty-five years supporting people, especially survivors of abuse, in their work of healing.
She served God through a variety of careers: registered nurse, pastor’s wife, business entrepreneur, psychotherapist, campus chaplain, pastor and author. Recently she retired as a professor of religion and psychology at Adventist University of Health Science in Orlando, FL.
Roberta has an international speaking ministry and presents in a number of venues such as conferences, retreats, seminars, workshops, and sermons. She facilitates training for churches on how to help survivors of all kinds of abuse and has created a training CD to empower churches to minister to abuse survivors.
She lives in Chattanooga, TN area with her chaplain husband of 49 years who, she says, is the kindest man she knows and her biggest cheerleader. In her “down time” she loves playing the piano, singing, reading, and biblical study in the areas of women, emotional health and spiritual growth.voir moins
