Jonathon holds an MA from Colorado College in Educational Humanities. He taught for 9 years at Gateway High School in Aurora Colorado where he taught primarily creative writing.
Since moving to Thailand he has been a lecturer at Assumption University and is currently teaching in Satit Kaset's International Program.
His novel 'Echo Pool' is a piece dedicated to his father Bill Siminoe who died of lung cancer. It was not his death, but his life which truly inspired this novel and gives the book its most memorable character. After an idyllic childhood spent in a tiny farm village in Nebraska, and then a hectic career as a professional gambler and teacher in Denver Colorado, his move to Bangkok 6 years ago has spurred a rebirth of his creative drive.
"Writing is my way of exercising demons. The problem is with all that exercise they seem to just get stronger and stronger."
Jonathon also writes under a pen name SIM when he is writing in the Fantasy or Young Adult genre. Bangkok Book House will be releasing his 'Journeys of the Astropaths series' in 2008. The first novel is 'Those Who Hear'. There are 5 novels scheduled for this series.
