He was elected President of Taxpayers Concerned for 1972 and in 1974 was appointed to the San Diego County Board of Public Welfare. From 1977 to 1981 he served on the San Diego City Council casting more "no votes" than all other councilmembers combined. Fulfilling a campaign to serve only one term, he did not run for re-election. He was invited to testify before the U.S. President's Commission on Housing and the U.S. House of Representatives Banking Committee. He has served as a director of San Diego Apartment Association, Board of Realtors, First Centennial Title Insurance Company, and American Thrift & Loan Association. Fred has published over 100 articles on economics, real estate and politics in various newspapers. In 1986 he served as a television panelist for “ON EDGE” a weekly TV Program on Southwestern Cable. In 1987 he married microbiologist Irina Antonova in Moscow, USSR. From 1996-1999 he hosted the radio Talk Shows, The Fred Schnaubelt Show and Schnaubelt’s Editorial Page. His son Chris is a retired Army Colonel living in Washington D.C. and his daughter Leslie Author of Strom Of Emotions on Kindle who lives and works in San Diego. Fred is currently President of Citizens for Private Property Rights and been a commercial real estate broker since 1968.voir moins
