At a very young age, she rejected everything she had learned about God and lived in an apathetic and rebellious state until 1979, when she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Maky married Orlando Fernandez at age twenty-three. By age twenty-eight, she was the mother of two daughters, Dasha and Michelle. Excelling in career, Maky obtained her Bachelor's Degree from Barry University while working at a well-known academic institution. During her 25 years there, she moved up the corporate ladder to become the Administrator of one of the largest divisions.
She has served her community by volunteering in several outreach ministries as well as a variety of church ministries including youth, children's, drama, women's, worship, and prayer ministry. Believing that the Bible is the infallible Word of God, she has set out to obey it in every area of her life. Throughout the years, her obedience to God has been tested in the areas of her relationship with God, marriage, ministry, career, honoring parents, raising children, finances and obeying the Holy Spirit. Experiencing both success and failures in the area of obedience have allowed her to understand both the benefits of obedience and the consequences of disobedience. Realizing the importance of obedience, Maky heeded to God's call and shares her experiences and personal challenges in “A Call to Obedience”.voir moins
