TRAMFABRIEK : PUT A TIGER IN YOUR MINITRAINS ENGINES

Tramfabriek has further enlarged its range of coreless motor conversion kits by tackling the MinitrainS models. The kit tested here is designed for references manufactured and sold after 2012. In pratice, extractor is essential for this vital step. The worm gear is then fitted onto the shaft of the new motor, after having inserted the brass plate, with the etched side towards the motor. Take care to adjust the height of the worm gear on the shaft so that it mates properly with the first gear. The instructions recommends using a hammer for this. Do likewise for the flywheel, which must be flush with the motor shaft. Fit the new driving mechanism by screwing the brass plate onto the chassis and by gluing the motor onto the plate. The small shoulder of the housing around the shaft helps to center the motor. To ensure a sturdy and durable bond with super glue, remember to degrease your parts thoroughly. All that remains to be done is to solder the wires to the pickups, put the engine back together and carry out some tests. While you are about it, lubricate the transmission. My guinea pig Brigadelok runs far more smoothly and starts better. The smaller size of the coreless motor frees a bit of space inside the cab, which makes it easier to install a driving crew or a decoder, or even both.
