Igor Panich was born in Saint Petersbourg, Russia. When he was thirteen-years old his family emigrated to the West. He entered Ampleforth College in England and after finishing it, went on to obtain a BA degree in History at the University of London.
He then decided to follow his family tradition and become an actor. He travelled to the US to study with Lee Strasberg - the legendary acting teacher and was in the last class taught by the master. After Lee Srasberg's death in 1982, Igor went on to produce and star in an off-Broadway production of "Cyrano de Bergerac." Alongside his work in theatre, for which he also wrote two plays, Igor acted in several films and on television. He worked with stars like Robin Williams (Moscow on the Hudson), Jason Robards (A Maddening Space), Mikhail Baryshnikov (In Class), Edward Woodward (The Equalizer) and Ridley Scott (A Good Year) among others.
He also produced "In Class" - a two part video with the stars of the American Ballet Theatre. In 1991 he produced and co-wrote "The Road Home" - a four-hour documentary series for the Russian REN TV.
From 1991-1196 Igor work in Russia, trying to create"Bridges" between the Western and Russian businesses, such as Escada, Laurel, Crisca, MCM and Etienne Aigner among others.
In 1995 Igor moved to France and concentrated on writing. His first novel "La Siberienne" was published by XO Editions in 2002. The English version entitled "The Siberian" and his second novel "The Russian Way" are available in E-book formats.voir moins
