The idea for her spider stories developed after she took a group of her students to a spider phobia workshop. The students, were initially afraid of spiders all volunteered up to handle the Chilean Rose Tarantula at the end of the session. This shows that familiarity can reduce fears and even increase a liking of spiders. Jane decided to write this series of spider stories for children in the hope it would encourage them to see these fascinating creatures in a more favourable light.voir moins
