TRAMFABRIEK : DISCREET COUPLINGS FOR YOUR ROLLING STOCK

Another welcome initiative by Tramfabriek. As is customary, Sven Van Der Hart has imagined and marketed a product he missed as a modeller. We refer to hook couplings designed toof steel wire, supplied in the box, it is even possible to couple and uncouple remotely. To do so, a small neodyme magnet must be placed on a stretch of straight track. In use, these couplings appear reliable both when hauling and reversing, on curves of up to 228mm radius. They are available in two lengths, short or medium, the latter being designed for bogie carriages with a long wheelbase. The system does however have one limit: the asymetric nature of the couplings means that devices such as turntables, balloon loops or turning triangles cannot be used, as otherwise two buffers fitted with hooks or devoid of them risk meeting face to face.
