LA DOLCE VITA AT THE HOTEL EDEN

hat visitor can have strolled through the streets of Rome towards the Villa Borghese and Piazza di Spagna without pausing to admire the ochre façade of the Hotel Eden? Opened at the century, the legendary luxury establishment has welcomed countless celebrities, heads of state and artists. The Dorchester hotel group – which also owns the Plaza Athénée and Hôtel Le Meurice in Paris – commissioned Bruno Moinard, Claire Betaille and Patrick Jouin to plan the Eden’s renovation in 2017. Adopting an elegant but unpretentious approach, the three French designers achieved their aims in great style. After we cross the splendid lobby with its gilded coffered ceilings and marble floor, we succumb to the charms of one of its 98 rooms or suites. They hold many ornamental art objects, giving the feeling of life in a luxury Roman apartment. The decor is inspired by the rich history of the capital, but also embraces the latest technologies. At the Hotel Eden, our preferred rooms and suites directly overlook the gardens of the Villa Borghese. Unmissable! On the top floor of the hotel, a magnificent bar and two elegant restaurants delight guests with their spectacular views over the city. La Terrazza is the culinary jewel of the hotel, famous for its menu composed by starred chef Fabio Ciervo. Then, at any time of day, Il Giardino Ristorante and its little terrace are a haven of peace, the perfect place to enjoy breakfast. In its designer setting, we revel in dishes based on fresh produce, including the classic cacio e pepe pasta, Italian cooked meats and mouthwatering pizzas. The bar with its large, horizontally sliding windows is very popular at cocktail time. Flawlessly managed and brilliantly renovated, the Eden Rome raises the bar for luxury and provides an unforgettable experience.
